Don Currey

Donald CurreyDonald R. Currey was a professor in the Department of Geography from 1970 to 2004. Professor Currey received his Ph.D. from University of Kansas in 1969. His research focused on geomorphology and quaternary stratigraphy of mountain and lacustrine desert environments in the western U.S.

Over more than two decades, Professor Currey documented the fluctuations of Lake Bonneville over the past 30,000 years, demonstrating how changes in climate created a variety of Utah landforms and led to the modern-day Great Salt Lake. A scholarship was created in Dr. Currey’s name to support student field research.
