Genevieve Atwood

Genevieve Atwood was an adjunct professor in the Department of Geography. Professor Atwood had a wide range of experience in science, public service, and academia. She served for six years as a state legislator, was the first woman to lead the Utah Geological Survey, and was involved in a variety of advisory boards and non-profits. Her primary interests as a physical geographer are (a) coastal processes of closed-basin lakes and (b) how to communicate Earth science concepts to teachers, policy makers, and laypeople.
