Application Process
1. Provide an official transcript of University of Utah credit
2. Provide two letters of recommendation from someone who can speak to your interest in and commitment
to sustainability
3. Include a 500 word personal statement (*several scholarships require an additional
statement)

RICK CARTER SCHOLARSHIP
Available to: Undergraduate students in Environmental and Sustainability Studies
Selection Criteria:
- Recipient must be a full-time student during the award year
- Recipient must be in the Environmental and Sustainability Studies program
- Minimum 2.75 GPA and majoring in Environmental and Sustainability Studies
- A 250 word essay is required
Amount of Award: Typically $2,500
Number of Awards: Typically one

Selection Criteria: Awarded to one or more undergraduate students with financial need. Preference given to students pursuing a degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies

BRIGHT FUTURE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Available to: Undergraduate students in Environmental and Sustainability Studies
Selection Criteria: Merit and recipient must be in the Environmental and Sustainability Studies program
Amount of Award: Typically $5,000
Number of Awards: Typically one

ENVST IN HONOR OF DAN & Jan MCCOOL SCHOLARSHIP
Available to: Undergraduate students in Environmental and Sustainability Studies
Selection Criteria:
- Recipient must be in the Environmental and Sustainability Studies program
- Full-time student during the award year
- Program Involvement will be taken into consideration
